About Kinsa HealthWeather™
Know when illness is spreading and what to do about it.
Our aim is to create the most accurate picture of what illnesses are going around your local area, so that you can make the best possible decisions about your health.
How?
We combine the best available datasets (CDC, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and our network of smart thermometers distributed over 2.5 million households) to determine your local illness risk.
Why Kinsa?
Kinsa is the only company that currently combines timely, localized and disease-specific data in one place, to provide you with the most accurate forecast of illness in your area. We’ve been on a mission to help curb the spread of illness for the last decade, and we aren’t stopping any time soon.
Why does this matter? In order to truly be actionable, we believe data needs to be timely (reported in real-time or near real-time rather than delayed), localized (reported at zip code or county level), and disease-specific (is it COVID-19, flu, or a cold?). No one dataset alone has all of these attributes. For example, testing data reported by laboratories or public health institutions is disease-specific, but is often delayed by several weeks and is geographically broad (e.g. reported by state or region). In contrast, fever and symptom data from Kinsa’s network of millions of smart thermometers and medical triage apps is not disease-specific, but is available in real-time and is highly localized.
